Filmfictions 1, 2
Short: a film starring drawings of Marlon Brando and Marilyn Monroe, or some other famous dead actors. Or a combo of actors that never worked together. All segments of body would be live-action, framed from behind, below, etc. All shots designed to focus on other things: hands, feet, gestures. The classic shot-countershot would only be evoked in drawn form. Voice-over narration will tell the story, using dialogue. A small parable, perhaps.
Long: a film version of Pinget’s The Inquisitory. Essentially an interview between an investigator and deaf servant. Small, single space room… the servant uses the objects on the table to tell his tale: cigarettes, pad of paper, water glass, food, etc. Start with an overhead shot of the table with all the objects on it. Titles, etc.
Overhead shot can be used like a map. Objects can be arranged to tell story.
Paper for drawings… flip book animation, words, crosswords, paper sculpture, noise,
Origami,
Water, floating, rain sounds, paper swans,
Cigarettes for people, lighter for fire, or matches.
Food for sculpture, etc.
Shooting style would be very minimal, basic textures, close-ups, dynamic sequence images, mix of static, dollywork, etc. Dynamic editing patterns.
